With our business growing rapidly in Asia, and our client base expanding to include Asian companies venturing abroad, we are seeking a Chinese-language Associate Editor (part-time) to support our division. We assume the role will require approximately ten days per month, initially, with the possibility to convert to a full-time position.

Accountabilities:

In the role you would be expected to: 

  • Act as the primary liaison between Chinese clients commissioning projects and the editorial team executing the projects, to ensure smooth communication and running of the project. 

  • Support the sales team during discussions with Chinese clients about potential research projects.

  • Work with the editorial team in Hong Kong on new research topics and ideas that fit incoming client briefs or that are developed proactively with a certain client/ prospect / target in mind

  • Help to source and conduct interviews in China for research projects.

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

To succeed in the role you must have:

  • Native Mandarin language ability, with Excellent English skills

  • Excellent client relationship skills

  • Experience dealing with senior executives

  • Substantial editorial experience (in Mandarin)

  • Understanding of editorial integrity, and the importance of this to our brand

  • Keen interest in business and economic issues, as well as current affairs in general

  • A global outlook
