We are seeking an economist to join and strengthened our senior management team in China. This is a senior post with a key strategic role responsible for directing CBBC’s research and content development strategy. The candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge of China’s economy, growth and blue print for the future; have an understanding of international trends and its relationship with China; and have a senior management background in market research.

Specific requirements for the role are as follows:

• Master’s degree level education and/or professional credentials, with emphasis on economics and quantitative analysis
• At least 8 years relevant industry/consultancy experience
• Excellent knowledge of China’s economy, its growth and its plans for the future, and have an understanding of international trends and its relationship with China

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting and communicating to senior management and board-level
• Ability to analyse and synthesize large amounts of secondary market data and information and turn into key communication points
• Experienced across all research techniques/applications, and using advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Project management and people management skills, and effective teamwork with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
• Highly organized, strategic and analytical, capable of managing and delivering multiple projects under tight timelines

The ideal candidate will also be energetic, highly motivated, IT literate, a good organiser, an excellent communicator, an active listener and a team player with a proven ability to work independently.
